Toyota is one of the leading companies in the manufacturing of the sports cars. Recently this company has also released the Hybrid sports cars. Toyota is a renowned company and it has always been recognized to be different from the other car manufacturers. The Volta concept prototype has been created by Toyota in partnership with Italdesign-Giugiaro. Toyota Volta which is a high performance car can make use of the hybrid technology. Volta is a concept car named after the inventor of battery Alessandro Volta. This car can achieve 0 – 60 acceleration in 4 seconds from a 408 horsepower hybrid drive. It has a top speed of 155 mph and 30/mpg under normal driving conditions. The Toyota Volta runs on a battery and use a 3-liter V6 engine. For the initial release Volta is estimated to be the top speed car. It has electric motor on each axle.
Toyota’s second concept car is the Camry TS-01 which is based on the Camry. This car was revealed in 2005 in Australia. This car showcased the proficiency of the engineers and designers of Toyota Australia. It consists of the supercharged 1MZ-Fe engine. The next is the Toyota 1/X, revealed in 2007 in Tokyo. This is a hybrid vehicle using the plug-in technology. It weighs about 420 kg with 500 cc engine. Toyota has also revealed a concept truck in 2007. It is powered by Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive with a four cylinder engine. This concept car is similar to RAV4 which is Toyota's compact SUV. A-BAT is 181.3 inches in length.
